Ciro Dapagio, a California resident and actor, producer, and writer, plays Mike White, a character in the popular program The MobKing. As Mike White, Ciro Dapagio portrays a very conflicted character.
The MobKing comes with all of the accouterments of mob life, extravagant homes, luxury cars, and wealthy associates. Described as a gritty version of something seen on Show Time, the story showcases Miami’s wealth and opulence-and its seedier backdrop.
The Mike White character, however, diverges in stereotypical adaptations of mobsters in that the source of these conflicts come from the tug-of-war between his family and street life. As is the case with most mobsters, White is bound by certain values: loyalty, obedience, and silence. At the same time, he has just been released from prison and is trying to turn over a new leaf unlike other characters in this genre when the lure of the streets and his mob connections pull him into all types of illegal activities.
This creates problems for his home life. This is evident in the vicious arguments between his daughter and wife, his conflicts with his wife, and his desire to conceal from his daughter the thing that makes him both strong and weak, and his connection to a life that provides protection for the family but at the high cost of secrecy.
